In Exploring Theater, we will be dipping our toes into the things that make stage acting so unique and wondrous. While learning the basics of direction and character, we'll also look at how this is different from screen acting. We will explore the many roles that go into running a production from box office to center stage! This class is great for beginning students who are curious about trying something new, or for returning young actors who look to deepen their love for the stage. Showcase for friends/family at the final class session.
Tuition is $150 for 10 weeks

What does it mean to create a “compelling” performance? In this class, students will be challenged to elevate their acting choices through monologue and scene work, character and script analysis. Specific work will focus on intentions, tactics, stakes, and making bold choices. Students will be encouraged to think outside the box to create exciting moments of truth in their storytelling. There will be some out of class work expected from students during this class, and memorization of some pieces will be encouraged. Open to all students aged 18 and up.

We are excited to launch this new educational theatre opportunity for actors aged 55 and up. Students will be cast in and perform a special version of the classic musical, Fiddler on the Roof, specifically designed for older actors of all experience levels. This 90-minute cutting of the play allows actors to work within their comfort levels, with minimal dance/movement and without needing to memorize the script. Those enrolled in the program will have all the joy of putting on a classic musical without all the stress of a typical production. This is a great opportunity for anyone who has always wondered if they could perform on stage, or folks who have been away from acting and want to return.
