Fifteen-year old Christopher has an extraordinary brain; he is exceptionally intelligent but ill-equipped to interpret everyday life. When he falls under suspicion for killing his neighbor’s dog, he sets out to identify the true culprit, which leads to an earth-shattering discovery and a journey that will change his life forever.
Simon Stephens's theatrical adaptation of Mark Haddon's bestselling, award-winning novel, The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-time offers a richly dramatic exploration of this touching and bleakly humorous tale. Directed by Diane Jamieson, the show will be the first at Red Curtain to utilize projected scenery and backdrops.
Red Curtain is also excited to host a young artist whose work has been featured on local news and entertainment programs during the run of the show. Anthony Ryan Schmidt is a professional photographer who specializes in creating realistic images of miniature cars with his iPhone. He has published two coffee table books of his work titled “Small Cars, Big Inspiration” and “Shifting Perspectives,” which showcase his journey as an artist on the autism spectrum. He has also gained a large fan base on social media where he shares his photos and stories.
Curious Incident will run for 3 weekends, April 14-30, with performances at 8 p.m. Fridays and Saturdays, and 2 p.m. on Sundays. Tickets are $22 for adults, $18 for seniors/students/military. Buy tickets online, over the phone at (360) 322-7402, or at the box office Tuesday-Saturday from 2 to 6 p.m. Rated R.
