Scavenger Hunt Basics

 These Rules detail the requirements, rules, regulations, processes and prizes for the Red Curtain Foundation’s 2nd Annual Scavenger Hunt. Participants in the Scavenger Hunt ("Participants") agree to abide by all Official Rules.

The RCF Summer Solstice Scavenger Hunt will begin Friday, June 17, 2022 at 9 a.m.. and end on Sunday, June 26, at 10 p.m. ("Hunt Period"). During the Hunt Period, teams of Participants will compete against one another to find and/or create specified items, record these items as images, videos, or text answers, and submit links to these images and videos via the Goose Chase app.

The Game will be open to 20 teams, each with 3 to 5 members. Early Bird registration fee is $20 per person from May 15 to noon June 17. Effective June 17 at 12:30 p.m., registration fee is $25 per person. 

Sneak Peek: For an additional $50 per team, you will receive a list of missions on Thursday, June 16, by noon -- the day before the Hunt begins.

Safety First: Participants should not expose themselves or others to any dangerous or harmful behavior or activity at any time during this Scavenger Hunt. Participants agree to abide by any and all applicable local, city, state, provincial and federal laws. Team members should comply with all active health dept. recommendations regarding COVID-19 pandemic mitigation.

The Scavenger Hunt is a skill-based competition and chance plays no part in the determination of the winning team.

To the extent permitted by local law, regulations, ordinances, codes or rules, the Scavenger Hunt is open to Participants 12 years of age and older. All Participants are counted in the 5-player maximum per team.

Each Participant must personally and actively participate in the Scavenger Hunt. Only one Mission submission is allowed per team.

Participants must register and submit their fee at EventBrite. Registered players will receive a password for the Red Curtain Scavenger Hunt. Download the Goose Chase app (free) onto your phone or mobile device, and register on the app, indicating your team name.  

During the Hunt Period, Teams compete against one another to find and/or create items from the supplied Missions list, submit text entries or record these items as original images or videos, and submit the photos, videos, or text answers on the Goose Chase app. Teams will be awarded points for legitimate Entries. The Scavenger Hunt is completed at 10 p.m. on Sunday, June 26, 2022. No Entries will be accepted after this point. 

The Entries submitted to the GooseChase app may not contain references which are obscene, crude or vulgar, and/or which contain gang identification, references to commercial products unless approved and asked for, license plate numbers, phone numbers, personal addresses (physical or email), derogatory characterizations of any ethnic, racial, sexual or religious groups, references to illegal or inappropriate activity, behavior or conduct, or any other references that could be considered inappropriate, unsuitable or offensive, at Red Curtain’s sole discretion. Submissions should be original works, and not copied, forged, manipulated or altered, unless Participants are specifically asked to do so for that Item. Submissions of Entries which are incomplete, inaccurate, irregular in any way, or otherwise not in compliance with these Rules are void. 

Each Item has a point value. Entries may be disqualified, awarded full or partial point value, or receive added bonus points (up to 100% of the item value) as determined at the sole discretion of RCF judges. The Team that submits Entries that are legitimate and accurate, and that accumulate the highest number of aggregate points, as determined by the judges, will win the Grand Prize. 

Red Curtain and local businesses have teamed up to provide a package of prizes for each member of the winning team, with a value of at least $100 per player. 

By entering the Scavenger Hunt, each Participant agrees: (i) if selected as a Winner, to the usage of such Participant’s name and photo on the RCF Website and/or social media accounts for publicity, promotional, and advertising purposes (ii) to be bound by these Official Rules and to waive any right to claim any ambiguity or error therein or in the Scavenger Hunt itself.
b. Rights. Participant must have the permission of all persons appearing in the videos and photographs to submit such material (the "Content") as Entries in the Scavenger Hunt. Participant represents and warrants that: (i) Participant owns the content; and/or (ii) Participant has the sole and exclusive authority to grant the rights provided in the License paragraph below.
c. License. Upon submitting Entries during the Scavenger Hunt, Participants grant RCF the right to use, reproduce, copy, publish, display and/or modify Participants’ content, and to incorporate the content in advertisements, promotions, and publicity. 

Registration fees are not considered charitable contributions to Red Curtain Foundation or any other charity, and are not tax deductible. Early Bird registration is applicable from May 15 to June 17, 2022, at $20 per person; beginning June 17 at 12:30 p.m., registration fee is $25 per person.

RCF reserves the right to disqualify from the Scavenger Hunt any Participant, at any time, at its sole discretion if RCF believes a person has violated these Official Rules. If, for technical reasons or other reasons beyond the control of RCF, the Scavenger Hunt is not capable of running as originally planned, RCF, at its sole discretion, reserves the right to cancel, modify or suspend the Scavenger Hunt or any element thereof without liability. If the Scavenger Hunt is cancelled, all Participants' fees shall be returned to Participants less any third-party transactional costs and the prizes will not be awarded.
