NOTE: Springboard is still planned to take place as scheduled, assuming the restrictions on gatherings are lifted by mid-May. Please note that deposits made are fully refundable if the program cannot happen this spring.
Red Curtain's Springboard program challenges young actors to blossom as they learn the critical skills of teamwork, mutual respect, and self-discipline using the tools of musical theatre storytelling.
The after-school 6-week program is designed for students ages 9 to 15, with rehearsals four days a week followed by a weekend of public performances of a fully-staged musical.
The tentative schedule: rehearsals will begin May 11, 2020, with rehearsals Monday thru Thursday from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m. Performances are set for June 19-20. Auditions will be held the week of May 4 (TBD). All registered students will be cast in the show.
For this year's show, the instructors have chosen "A Connecticut Yankee: The Musical," a modern adaptation of Mark Twain's classic story, "A Connecticut Yankee in King Arthur's Court." Hank, a clever student who is working on his school play, is knocked unconscious and "wakes up" in Camelot! Through encounters with King Arthur, Guenevere, Sir Lancelot, Merlin, and even Morgan LeFey, Hank brings modern technology to the medieval kingdom and learns a bit about himself along the way.
Tuition is $290 for the full program. A $90 deposit holds your student's place, with the balance due the first day of class.
