Students in this 2-hour hands-on class will learn about basic skin care and application skills, followed by basic special effects for the stage. The Ben Nye student makeup kit is recommended in order to fully participate in this class, available for purchase through many online retailers.

For those looking to try something new, add dance to their resume, or break into musical theatre, this intro class will give you a glimpse into theatrical dancing. Learn the basic steps you might find in musicals such as, Newsies, Hairspray, and Singin’ in the Rain. No experience required.

Learn what it means to be a seasoned actor. Develop your acting skills: auditioning, cold reading, scene development, character evolution, and collaborating with other artists to develop a stellar performance. Leave with a higher awareness of your capabilities and how far you can push your talent.
Saturdays, Aug. 4-25, 4-6 p.m.

Cost $100 for 4 lessons
Using your current audition materials, you will be coached on how to elevate your audition to help you nail the comeback, and land the role. Bring a prepared contemporary 2-minute monologue, along with resumé and headshot to the first class. Open to all students age 16 and up.

The playwright study classes take acting students on a journey through the careers of leading writers of the theatre world. Students will learn to identify writing styles, important themes, and special acting skills required to tackle these works. For students ages 16 & up.
Sunday, August 5, 3-5 p.m.

This fun workshop will get you started on the path to being an effective stage manager in community theatre, exploring the elements and processes that are used from auditions to opening night and everything in between. In this one-day class, Courtney will provide tips and methods for organizing your script, keeping open lines of communication between cast, crew and production staff, and items and skills that should be part of every stage manager’s tool kit!
We're proud to announce that Red Curtain's kids' theatre program will be revamped and expanded this fall (beginning September 2018). The new curriculum will allow students to progress through stages of learning, adding skills and techniques as they go. Class sessions will range from 6 weeks to 12 weeks in length, taught by Kelly McClain and Sherry Penoyer. More information will be available soon.
