Music & Movement in Theatre (ages 6-9)

In this class, students will be exploring theater through a variety of activities from

games to music, dance, puppetry and more! This class is sure to light up your

young actors’ imagination, get them interacting, and help them think on their

feet! This class covers the basics of performing and introduces skills that will not

only help them on stage and in school, but in every aspect of their lives. This

exciting class will help your students expand their creativity, imagination,

confidence, and communication skills. Showcase for friends/family at the final

class session.

In Exploring Theater, we will be dipping our toes into the things that make stage

acting so unique and wondrous. While learning the basics of direction and

character, we'll also look at how this is different from screen acting. We will

explore the many roles that go into running a production from box office to

center stage! This class is great for beginning students who are curious about

trying something new, or for returning young actors who look to deepen their

love for the stage. Showcase for friends/family at the final class session.

Make new friends while learning more about theatre! This drop-in style class

allows teens to control the pace and subject matter of their theatre learning,

while also providing structure and insight on theatre history, techniques and

essential skills. Have a monologue or song you want to practice? Bring it in! Want

to learn about how to design or paint sets? Wear your overalls and let’s get to

work! Trying to write your first script? Let’s workshop it together! This unique class puts your teens at the forefront and will help teach skills that lead to their

growth and success. Showcase for friends/family at the final class session.

Class fees reflect the total cost of class, due prior to the first class meeting. Payment arrangements and financial assistance are always available.

What does it mean to create a “compelling” performance? In this class, students

will be challenged to elevate their acting choices through monologue and scene

work, character and script analysis. Specific work will focus on intentions, tactics,

stakes, and making bold choices. Students will be encouraged to think outside the

box to create exciting moments of truth in their storytelling. There will be some

out of class work expected from students during this class, and memorization of

some pieces will be encouraged. Open to all students aged 18 and up. 

Schedule: Sundays 7-9pm

Looking for a great activity that will awaken your inner actor? Or maybe you’re

just looking for a great opportunity to be social and make new friends—well RCF’s

senior acting classes are for you! This is a great opportunity for anyone who has

always wondered if they could perform on stage, or folks who have been away

from acting and want to return. This class is for students aged 55 and up.

Schedule: Tuesdays 1:30-3:30pm 

Registration:  $160 for 8- week session

Students wishing to gain specific skills are encouraged to contact the RCF office to find out about one-on-one acting lessons. Taught by experienced actors, directors, and producers, classes will be tailored to help students reach their individual goals. These classes are open to students of all ages.
