Message From The Artistic Director

To all of our supporters…

I want to take a moment to acknowledge the anxiety and distress many of us are living with due to current events in our nation’s capital. The fear and uncertainty can be overwhelming, leaving us with feelings of powerlessness and isolation.

At times like these, we seek the safety of familiar and supportive communities, and the arts have historically proven to be a sanctuary in times of turmoil.

Since Red Curtain’s inception, a key part of our mission has been to acknowledge and celebrate Diversity, Equity and Inclusion, ideas that have come under direct fire from the current regime. These ideals are at the heart of everything we do at Red Curtain and we intend to dig our heels in and be even more steadfast and deliberate in how we uphold these values.

We pride ourselves in opening our doors to people of diverse backgrounds and

experiences, to provide a safe space for everyone to meet, share ideas,  and celebrate creatively. We welcome members of the LGBTQIA+ communities, disabled/differently abled folks, immigrants who have chosen this country as their home, those who have ever felt excluded, overlooked, or silenced, and all who likewise wish to share this space with individuals and families who live their lives differently than our own.

The Red Curtain Arts Center’s doors are open to all members of the Greater Marysville-Tulalip region--and beyond--who wish to strengthen our community through camaraderie, conversation and the sharing of art. We are proud to be here, providing a space for artists, audiences, volunteers, and donors who see the arts as a vital, communal experience and a safe haven during this storm.
